The G430 Max holds the highest MOI in Ping's history. MOI is the measurement that determines how much a club resists twisting on off-centre strikes. Higher MOI means more distance and accuracy from imperfect contact, which describes the majority of drives most golfers hit.

Why It Works

• Optimised T9S+ forged face: Shallower, thinner, variable-thickness construction creates more face deflection at impact. More deflection means faster ball speed. Ping describes this as their biggest distance gain to date.
• Spinsistency (variable roll radius): Less loft low on the face reduces spin on thin strikes specifically. Thin shots typically balloon and fall short. This keeps them in play with distance closer to your centre strikes.
• 25g moveable tungsten backweight: Three positions (Draw, Neutral, Fade) shift the CG to influence shot shape. The swing between Draw and Fade settings is ±8 yards of lateral movement. Meaningful adjustment, not a marketing feature.
• Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel: Eight positions adjusting loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than standard). More precise than most adjustable hosels, which typically offer four positions.
• Redesigned internal rib structure: Sound engineering based on audio frequency research. Crown, skirt and sole stiffness were all increased specifically to improve impact sound. The G430 Max is noticeably better to the ear than its predecessor.

Who It's For

Golfers who miss the centre of the face regularly and want the maximum protection against distance and accuracy loss from those misses. Works across a wide handicap range, but the high MOI makes it particularly valuable for mid-to-high handicappers and anyone who struggles with consistency off the tee.

Low handicappers who prioritise workability over forgiveness may prefer the G430 LST.
