Footjoy SL Golf Shoes - Review

I have never really been one who needs or wants the all of the latest golf accessories, for sure golf clubs are always high up on my list, and I love finding a new club to add to my bag to enhance my game - who doesn’t’t?!  But when I heard about the new Footjoy SL Shoes release I found myself quietly looking forward to the date!

Everyone including themselves were impressed, and dare I say it shocked at the success of the DryJoys casual shoe. They were embraced by amateurs and pros alike and clearly it encouraged the manufacturers to build upon their success, reigniting many a golfers desire for spikeless versatile shoes on the course.

Stability, performance and comfort are a must for footwear, I have never been one to buy into the look of a shoe, if they fit and feel great then looking great is a bonus in my opinion, but these really do tick all of the boxes.

The look is sporty but casual, and they look great in all the available colours.

A waterproof upper made from Pittards’ Chromoskin treated leather gives you a one year waterproof guarantee - keeping your feet dry in the dewiest conditions.  There are three layers for comfort in the midsole/outsole unit, which provide enhanced cushioning thanks to the FTF (Fine-Tuned Foam).  This layer is 10% lighter than conventional EVA foam and provides not only comfort but stability too. The other layers give lateral support when your weight is transitioned through the swing.  The TPU Traction Unit provide comfort and traction with mini spikes that make this shoe stand out from the crowd.  It works on ALL surfaces, from soft to firm courses providing you with grip and versatility.

After the anticipation of the release, and putting these to the test I can safely say these are the golf shoes for me - spikeless, comfortable and reasonably priced too!  I might even get them in a few different colours, in fact I kind of wish they did a bag to match……..!
