Callaway Rogue Driver
Callaway Rogue Driver is new for 2018 and is finally here. Heading the range is the beautiful Callaway Rogue driver. Featuring the latest jailbreak technology for increased distance.
In essence, there are 2 pins that go through the sole plate to the roof of the club. If you can imagine a piece of paper, bent over into a shape of a letter C . If the straight bit of the C (the vertical side) was the face, and a ball pushed the face inwards the top and the bottom would move outwards with no support. The jailbreak pins simply hold the top and the bottom in place so that when the ball strikes the face, there is no energy lost by pushing the roof or the sole upwards or downwards, Leading to greater ball speed from the face and hey presto, More distance!
Callaway’s patented X-Face CFT also help increase the MOI for more forgiveness.
I’m lucky enough to be a Callaway Staff player, So along with my new Callaway Mac Daddy 4 wedges I’ve got a nice new shiny set of Rogue Irons, Rogue fairways, and of course a Callaway Rogue Driver to finish the package off. Changing from Epic last year, the bar was set very high. The irons are a little more playable than the Epics, a slightly bigger head makes them just look easier to hit. The Callaway Rogue driver is similar to look at than the Epic Driver. I can tell a slight difference on the distance. Not much but I hit 10 yellow balls and 10 white balls and 8 of the Rogue Drivers went a few yards further than the Epic Drivers.
Callaway Rogue Driver final verdict
Looks great, Sounds good, feels good. Is it worth upgrading to if you already have a Callaway Epic, No but if you have nearly any other driver then most definitely a yes from me!
