Most distance balls trade greenside feel for carry. The RB 566 is Mizuno's attempt to avoid that trade-off, using aerodynamics to prolong flight rather than a harder core to generate it.

Why It Works

• 566 micro-dimple design: The dimple pattern becomes more effective as the ball slows past the peak of its flight, delaying descent and extending carry. Most dimple patterns are optimised for the ascending phase. This one targets the back half of the trajectory where distance is typically lost.
• Large soft compression core: Mizuno's softest to date. Lower compression means easier to compress for moderate swing speeds, which produces higher launch and straighter flight. The large core size reduces driver spin for a more penetrating ball flight.
• Ionomer cover: Durable enough for year-round play in varying conditions, soft enough for greenside feel on chips and pitches. Not a urethane cover, so spin performance around the greens sits below tour-level balls, but appropriate for the target swing speed.

Who It's For

Moderate to slower swing speeds in warm and dry conditions. All swing speeds in cold or soft conditions, where a softer compression ball compresses more easily and maintains performance when harder balls become difficult to load. If you play through winter and find your distance dropping significantly, a low-compression ball like the RB 566 recovers some of that loss.
