Mizuno Pro M-15 Irons — Graphite Shaft

Mizuno's answer to the question better players have been asking for years: can I get forged feel and modern distance in the same iron?

The M-15 says yes. Hollow-body construction and tungsten weighting in the long irons, partial hollow forged scoring irons from 9-iron down. The technology changes through the set because what you need from a 4-iron and what you need from a 9-iron are genuinely different problems.

    Why It Works

    • Progressive set design (not just scaled heads): Long irons are built for high launch and distance. Mid irons prioritise stability and consistency. Short irons shift to precision and shot control. Each section is engineered differently, which is what separates a considered iron set from one that's just lofted up or down from a single template.
    • Suspended tungsten weighting (51g in long irons, 50.3g in mid irons): Heavy tungsten positioned low and back raises launch and increases stability without making the head larger. You get the ball flight of a game-improvement iron in a head that looks nothing like one.
    • Multi-material hollow construction (4-8 iron): Forged 4135+ Chromoly face and neck with a stainless steel back. Chromoly is stiffer and stronger than standard carbon steel, which allows a thinner face that flexes more at impact for faster ball speeds. The soft forged feel comes from the face material, not despite it.
    • Partial hollow forged scoring irons (9-GW): Transitions away from hollow construction as you move into the scoring clubs, where feel and feedback matter more than distance. A 9-iron into a par 3 needs to tell you something. This one does.
    • Harmonic Impact Technology (copper underlay + vibration tuning): Mizuno's grain flow forged irons have always had a distinctive feel. The copper underlay refines the vibration frequency at impact to preserve that feel even with the hollow construction behind it.

    Who It's For

Mid-to-low handicappers who've outgrown game-improvement irons but aren't ready to give up distance and forgiveness for a blade. Also the right upgrade for players on traditional players irons who are losing distance and want modern ball speed without changing the look at address.

If you play Mizuno Pro 223s and want more distance, or you're coming from a hollow iron and want more feel, the M-15 sits squarely between those two things.

    One Thing Worth Knowing

The graphite shaft option makes the M-15 accessible to players who want the performance of this iron without the weight of steel, particularly useful if swing speed is declining or you're playing more frequent rounds and want to reduce fatigue. The head does the technical work regardless of shaft material, so you're not compromising on iron performance by choosing graphite.

Custom fitting is worth doing before you order. Lie angle in particular affects shot shape significantly with a compact head like this, and getting it wrong costs you accuracy that the iron is otherwise designed to deliver.
